Scripture
“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents… and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.” — Hebrews 11:23
Thought
Moses’ parents chose faith over fear. In a dangerous environment, they trusted God and protected the life He had entrusted to them. Faith often calls us to stand courageously for what God values, even when doing so is costly or unpopular. Faith preserves what is good, true, and life-giving because it trusts God’s authority above human pressure.
Action
Identify one area where fear has kept you from doing what you know is right. Take one step of obedience today.
Prayer
Father, help me trust You more than I fear circumstances or people. Give me courage to protect, preserve, and uphold what honors You. Amen.
Reflection Questions
- What fears are most likely to keep me from obeying God?
- How can I actively preserve and promote what is good in my home, church, or community?
Day 2: Faith Shapes Our Identity
Scripture
“By faith Moses… refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.” — Hebrews 11:24
Thought
Moses had access to privilege, status, and comfort, yet he chose to identify with God’s people. Faith reminds us that our primary identity is not found in our achievements, possessions, or social standing. Our identity is found in God. When we know who we belong to, we can make decisions based on faith rather than approval, success, or comfort.
Action
Write down three truths about your identity in Christ and revisit them throughout the day.
Prayer
Lord, help me find my worth in You rather than in the opinions of others. Teach me to live confidently as Your child. Amen.
Reflection Questions
- What sources of identity compete with my relationship with God?
- How would my decisions change if I consistently viewed myself as God’s child first?
Day 3: Faith Chooses Eternal Reward
Scripture
“He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.” — Hebrews 11:26
Thought
Moses saw beyond immediate gratification. He understood that temporary pleasures and earthly treasures could never compare with God’s eternal reward. Faith gives us the ability to evaluate life from God’s perspective. It helps us invest in what lasts rather than what fades.
Action
Evaluate your priorities. Is there something consuming your time, energy, or attention that has little eternal value? Ask God to help you realign your focus.
Prayer
Father, help me value what You value. Give me wisdom to pursue eternal treasures rather than temporary rewards. Amen.
Reflection Questions
- What “treasures of Egypt” tempt me to compromise my faith?
- How can I invest more intentionally in things with eternal significance?
Day 4: Faith Endures Through Difficulty
Scripture
“By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.” — Hebrews 11:27
Thought
Moses endured because he focused on God rather than his circumstances. Faith does not eliminate hardship, but it provides strength to persevere through it. When we remember that God is present—even when we cannot see Him—we gain courage to keep moving forward.
Action
Spend ten minutes today thanking God for His faithfulness during past challenges in your life.
Prayer
Lord, strengthen my faith when circumstances are difficult. Help me keep my eyes on You and trust Your presence every step of the way. Amen.
Reflection Questions
- What challenge currently requires endurance and trust in God?
- How has God proven faithful to me in the past?
Day 5: Faith Acts in Obedience
Scripture
“By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land.” — Hebrews 11:29
Thought
Throughout Hebrews 11, faith is demonstrated through action. Moses’ parents hid him. Moses refused Egypt’s privileges. Israel crossed the Red Sea. Genuine faith moves beyond belief into obedience. We may not know exactly how God will work, but faith responds when He calls us to move forward.
Action
Ask God to show you one specific act of obedience He is calling you to take this week, and commit to doing it.
Prayer
Father, let my faith be more than words. Give me a willing heart that responds to Your leading with obedience and trust. Amen.
Reflection Questions
- What step of obedience have I been delaying?
- How can I demonstrate my faith through action this week?
Closing Thought
The story of Moses in Hebrews 11 reminds us that faith is transformative. It preserves what God values, shapes our identity, helps us choose eternal priorities, strengthens us to endure hardship, and moves us to obedient action. As you walk through this week, ask God to make your faith active, courageous, and visible in every area of your life.
