Sermon Series: Faith In Action

Day 1: Faith Applies the Blood

Scripture

Hebrews 11:28

“By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.”

Thought

The Israelites were not spared because they were stronger, better, or more deserving than the Egyptians. They were spared because they obeyed God and trusted His provision. The blood on the doorposts was a visible expression of faith in God’s promise.

Today, salvation is found not in our efforts but in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God. Faith receives what God has already provided through Christ’s blood.

Action

Spend time thanking Jesus for His sacrifice. Write down three ways God’s grace has changed your life.

Prayer

Father, thank You for providing salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to trust fully in His finished work and never depend on my own righteousness. May I live each day in gratitude for the blood that has redeemed me. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. Am I trusting in Christ alone for my salvation?
  2. How does remembering Christ’s sacrifice affect the way I live today?

Day 2: Faith Obeys Even When It Doesn’t Understand

Scripture

Exodus 12:13

“When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you.”

Thought

The Israelites had never experienced anything like the Passover. Yet they obeyed God’s instructions because they trusted His character and His promise.

Faith is not having all the answers; faith is trusting the One who does. Obedience often comes before understanding. God calls us to trust Him even when we cannot see the outcome.

Action

Identify one area where God is calling you to obey Him. Take one practical step of obedience today.

Prayer

Lord, help me to trust Your wisdom above my own understanding. Give me courage to obey You, even when the path ahead is unclear. Strengthen my faith to follow wherever You lead. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. What area of my life requires greater obedience to God?
  2. How has God proven Himself faithful in the past when I trusted Him?

Day 3: Faith Relies on God’s Power

Scripture

Hebrews 11:29

“By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land.”

Thought

Standing between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, Israel faced an impossible situation. There was no human solution. Yet God made a way where there seemed to be no way.

Many believers find themselves facing their own “Red Sea” moments—circumstances that exceed their strength, wisdom, or resources. These moments remind us that victory comes through God’s power, not ours.

Action

Write down a challenge that feels impossible. Pray specifically for God’s guidance and power in that situation.

Prayer

Father, I confess that I often rely on my own strength. Teach me to depend on Your power and not my own abilities. Help me trust that You can make a way when I cannot see one. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. What “Red Sea” am I facing right now?
  2. How can I actively depend on God’s power rather than my own?

Day 4: Faith Trusts God in the Cul-de-Sac

Scripture

Proverbs 3:5–6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Thought

Sometimes God leads us into situations that seem confusing or even impossible. Israel may have wondered why God led them to the edge of the sea with an enemy army behind them. Yet what appeared to be a dead end became the stage for God’s greatest display of deliverance.

God’s delays are not His denials. Often, He is preparing us to see His power more clearly.

Action

Surrender one unresolved concern to God today. Instead of worrying about it, spend five minutes praising Him for His faithfulness.

Prayer

Lord, when I cannot understand what You are doing, help me trust Your heart. Remind me that You are always working for Your glory and my good. Give me peace while I wait for Your direction. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. Where do I need to trust God’s guidance more fully?
  2. What has God taught me through previous seasons of waiting?

Day 5: Faith Leads to Deliverance

Scripture

Revelation 20:15

“If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

Thought

The Passover and the Red Sea point beyond physical deliverance to the greater deliverance found in Christ. Through faith in Jesus, believers are rescued from sin, judgment, and eternal separation from God.

Because Christ died and rose again, those who trust Him can live with confidence, peace, and hope. The blood applied by faith secures eternal life.

Action

Share your testimony or a word of encouragement about God’s salvation with someone this week.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for rescuing me from sin and giving me eternal life. Help me live with confidence in Your promises and boldly share the hope I have in You with others. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. How does the promise of eternal life shape my daily priorities?
  2. Who in my life needs to hear about the hope found in Christ?

Key Truth for the Week

Faith in God’s promises and divine power is the pathway to redemption, deliverance, and victory. Faith applies the blood, trusts God’s power, follows His leading, and rests in His salvation.
