Sermon Series Week Five: An Invitation to Revival

The Book of Isaiah

Sermon Date: Sunday, November 30, 2025
Scripture: Isaiah 55

Pulpit Guest: Rio Taylor, First Baptist Church, Grayson, Kentucky

Day 1 — The Satisfying Invitation

Scripture:
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters… Come, buy wine and milk without money and without
price.”

Isaiah 55:1

Daily Thought:
God’s invitation begins with satisfaction. He calls you—not to a temporary fix or a fleeting emotional
moment—but to Himself, the only true source of spiritual life. Like the little match girl, we often grasp after
temporary warmth: distractions, sin patterns, affirmations, emotional highs, hobbies, or escapes. But none
can sustain the soul.

Jesus offers living water—free, full, and forever. Revival begins when you stop trying to self-nurture with
matches and instead return to the well of Christ.

Action:
Identify one “temporary match” you run to for comfort. Lay it down before the Lord today. Replace it with 10
minutes at the “living water”—God’s Word and prayer.

Prayer:
Lord, I confess that I often chase what will never satisfy. Draw me back to You—the fountain of living waters.
Restore my thirst for what is eternal, and teach me to drink deeply of Your grace. Amen.

Questions:

*What are the “matches” I’ve been lighting instead of going to Christ for satisfaction?

*What would it look like for me to come to the waters freely today?

Day 2 — The Open Invitation for All

Scripture:
“Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live… Behold, you shall call a nation that you do
not know.”

Isaiah 55:3,5

Daily Thought:
God is not reluctant in His invitation—He is intentional and compassionate. The invitation is open to all
people, all backgrounds, all sins, all stories. God does not invite you because of your worthiness; He invites
you because of His heart.

He is not like a child reluctantly handing out party invitations—He delights to call you His own. Your past,
your failures, and your fears do not disqualify you. His grace is bigger than all of it.

Action:
Write down three lies that tell you you’re “unworthy to come.” Then write biblical truth next to each one.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that Your invitation is for me—fully, freely, and joyfully. Silence the lies that keep me
distant. Help me believe Your welcome more than my shame. Amen.

Questions:

*What lies make me believe God is reluctant toward me?

*How does knowing God invites all people—nations, sinners, outcasts—change the way I view myself
and others?

Day 3 — The Urgent Invitation

Scripture:
“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.”
Isaiah 55:6

Daily Thought:
God’s invitation is loving—but it is also urgent. Heaven’s doors are open now, but not forever. Every breath is
a gift of mercy.

Seeking God is not wandering the earth hoping to stumble into Him. To “seek” biblically means to go where
you know He is—His Word, His presence, His people. Revival rarely comes to closed Bibles and prayerless
hearts.

Do not postpone obedience. Do not delay repentance. Revival begins the moment you stop waiting.

Action:
Set aside 15 uninterrupted minutes today. Read Isaiah 55 slowly. Then pray: “Lord, I’m here. I’m seeking You
now.”

Prayer:
Lord, help me stop delaying what You’re calling me to do today. Give me urgency, hunger, and holy desire.
Draw me to Yourself as I seek You in Your Word. Amen.

Questions:

*What obedience have I been delaying?

*What would change if I truly believed “today is the day of salvation”?

Day 4 — The Compassionate Call to Repent

Scripture:
“Let the wicked forsake his way… let him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion… for He will
abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55:7

Daily Thought:
Repentance is not God punishing you—it is God rescuing you. He calls you away from sin not because He
wants to deprive you, but because He loves you.

Sin promises sweetness but always ends in sickness. God calls you back because He knows the path you’re
on cannot satisfy you or sustain you.

And when you return, His response is not reluctance but abundant pardon. He is ready—eager—to cleanse,
restore, and revive.

Action:
Confess one hidden or persistent sin to God today. If appropriate, share with a trusted believer who can pray
for you and walk with you.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your compassion that calls me back. Give me courage to confess, humility to repent,
and faith to receive Your abundant pardon. Cleanse me and renew my heart. Amen.

Questions:

*What sin or habit is God compassionately calling me to bring into the light?

*How does remembering God’s abundant pardon change the way I approach repentance?

Day 5 — The Effective Word and Revived Life

Scripture:
“So shall My word be… it shall not return to Me empty… You shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace.”
Isaiah 55:11–12

Daily Thought:
God’s invitations never fail. His Word always accomplishes its purpose—whether in salvation, conviction,
encouragement, restoration, or revival.

When you respond to His call, He leads you on a greater Exodus—from sin into freedom, from dryness into
joy, from weariness into renewed strength.

Revival is not emotional hype; it is spiritual health returning through the power of God’s Word. Where the
Word is active, God is active—and He is reviving you even now.

Action:
Choose a meaningful verse from Isaiah 55. Write it in your journal or on your phone. Meditate on it three
times today.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your Word is powerful and effective. Revive my heart today through the truth of
Scripture. Lead me out with joy and guide me in Your peace. Accomplish all that You desire in me. Amen.

Questions:

*Where do I most need the Word of God to accomplish revival in my life right now?

*How have I seen God’s Word succeed in my life in the past?
