Day 1: An Informed Faith
Scripture
Joshua 2:10-11
“For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt… For the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.”
Thought
Rahab’s faith was not a blind leap. She had heard about God’s mighty works and came to believe that He alone was the true God. Genuine faith grows as we learn God’s Word and understand His character. Borrowed faith from parents, pastors, or friends will not sustain us when challenges come. Conviction comes when God’s truth becomes personally known and embraced.
Action
Spend 15 minutes reading a passage of Scripture today and write down one truth about God’s character that strengthens your faith.
Prayer
Father, help me to know You through Your Word. Give me a faith that is rooted in truth and not merely in what others have told me. Let Your Word become my conviction and guide my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Questions
- Is my faith based on personal conviction or primarily on the influence of others?
- What truth about God do I need to study more deeply this week?
Day 2: A Confessing Faith
Scripture
Joshua 2:11
“For the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.”
Thought
Rahab publicly declared her allegiance to the God of Israel, even though doing so separated her from her culture and community. Faith that remains hidden is incomplete. Those who truly trust God will not be ashamed to acknowledge Him. Our confession may not always be popular, but it demonstrates where our loyalty truly lies.
Action
Look for an opportunity today to speak about your faith, offer encouragement from Scripture, or tell someone what God has done in your life.
Prayer
Lord, give me courage to openly confess my faith in You. Help me to speak truth with love and boldness wherever You place me. May my life and words point others to Christ. Amen.
Questions
- Are there places where I remain silent about my faith because of fear?
- How can I more intentionally represent Christ in my daily relationships?
Day 3: A Courageous Faith
Scripture
Joshua 2:4
“But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them.”
Thought
Rahab risked her safety, reputation, and even her life to protect God’s people. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is choosing obedience despite fear. Every believer faces moments when standing for truth carries a cost. Courageous faith trusts that God’s approval matters more than the world’s acceptance.
Action
Identify one area where fear has kept you from obeying God. Take one practical step toward obedience today.
Prayer
Father, strengthen me when fear tempts me to compromise. Help me trust You more than I fear people or circumstances. Give me the courage to stand for truth and righteousness. Amen.
Questions
- What fear most often hinders my obedience to God?
- What would courageous faith look like in my current situation?
Day 4: An Obedient Faith
Scripture
Joshua 2:21
“And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.”
Thought
Rahab demonstrated her faith through obedience. The scarlet cord was a visible sign that she trusted God’s promise. True faith always produces action. We are not saved by works, but saving faith results in obedience. Every act of obedience is an expression of trust in God’s faithfulness.
Action
Choose one command of Scripture that you have delayed obeying and take a concrete step toward obedience today.
Prayer
Lord, help me not merely to hear Your Word but to obey it. Strengthen my faith so that my actions reflect my trust in You. May my obedience glorify Your name. Amen.
Questions
- Is there an area where I know what God wants me to do but have delayed obedience?
- How does obedience demonstrate my trust in God?
Day 5: A Saving Faith
Scripture
Hebrews 11:31
“By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient.”
Thought
Rahab’s story is a testimony to God’s grace. Her past did not disqualify her from God’s mercy. She was a Gentile, an Amorite, and a prostitute, yet she became part of God’s family and even the lineage of Christ. No one is beyond the reach of God’s saving grace. Faith in God transforms identity, forgives sin, and gives a new future.
Action
Thank God for the grace He has shown you. If there is an area of shame or guilt you continue to carry, surrender it to Him in prayer.
Prayer
Gracious Father, thank You that Your mercy is greater than my failures. Thank You for the salvation found through Jesus Christ. Help me live each day as one who has been redeemed and made new by Your grace. Amen.
Questions
- Are there past sins or failures that I struggle to believe God can fully forgive?
- How has God’s grace changed my identity and purpose?
Key Verse for the Week
Hebrews 11:31
“By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.”
Theme: Saving faith is informed, confessing, courageous, obedient, and rooted in the grace of God. Like Rahab, we are called to live contra mundum—faithfully standing with God regardless of the world’s opposition.
