Sermon Series: Faith Walks With God

Weekly Devotionals

Day 1 — Faith That Pleases God

Scripture: Hebrews 11:6
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him…”

Thought:
Faith isn’t just belief in something—it’s trust in Someone. Enoch’s life shows that pleasing God begins with believing that He truly exists and is involved in your life. Faith is not passive; it’s relational. It draws near to God with confidence that He sees, knows, and responds.

Action:
Take 10 minutes today to intentionally acknowledge God’s presence—no distractions, just you and Him.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to truly believe You are near and active in my life. Grow my faith so that my life pleases You.

Questions:

  1. Do I live like God is truly present in my daily life?
  2. What areas of my life reveal a lack of trust in Him?

Day 2 — Walking With God Daily

Scripture: Genesis 5:24
“Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.”

Thought:
Walking with God is not a one-time decision—it’s a daily direction. It means staying in step with Him through prayer, obedience, and awareness. Like a child holding a father’s hand in the dark, walking with God is about trust, closeness, and dependence.

Action:
Throughout your day, pause 3 times and simply say: “God, I’m walking with You right now.”

Prayer:
Father, teach me to walk closely with You—not just occasionally, but consistently.

Questions:

  1. What habits help me stay close to God daily?
  2. Where have I been “walking ahead” or “falling behind” spiritually?

Day 3 — Faith in a Dark World

Scripture: Genesis 6:5 (context of Enoch’s time)
“The wickedness of man was great in the earth…”

Thought:
Enoch didn’t walk with God in easy times—he walked with God in a corrupt world. Faith stands out most when culture pushes the opposite direction. You don’t need a perfect environment to be faithful—you need a committed heart.

Action:
Identify one area where culture pressures you to compromise—and choose obedience instead.

Prayer:
God, give me courage to stand for You, even when I stand alone.

Questions:

  1. Where am I tempted to conform to the world instead of God?
  2. What would bold faith look like in my current environment?

Day 4 — God Rewards Those Who Seek Him

Scripture: Hebrews 11:6
“He rewards those who seek Him.”

Thought:
God is not distant—He is personal and generous. Enoch believed not only that God existed, but that God responds. The reward isn’t always material—it’s His presence, His peace, His provision, and ultimately eternal life.

Action:
Spend time seeking God today—not for what He gives, but for who He is.

Prayer:
Lord, help me seek You with a sincere heart, trusting that You are good and faithful.

Questions:

  1. Do I seek God for His presence or just His blessings?
  2. How have I seen God reward faithfulness in my life?

Day 5 — A Life That Points to Eternity

Scripture: Hebrews 11:5
“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death…”

Thought:
Enoch’s life reminds us that this world is not the end. Faith doesn’t just shape how we live—it shapes where we’re going. Those who walk with God here will dwell with Him forever. Your daily walk has eternal significance.

Action:
Reflect on eternity today—write down what it means to live with heaven in mind.

Prayer:
God, fix my eyes on eternity. Help me live today in light of forever.

Questions:

  1. Am I living more for this world or for eternity?
  2. What needs to change if I truly believe my future is with God?
