FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why renovate the Sanctuary?
A: We do not want our Sanctuary in a state of disrepair, we want to honor the Lord with excellence through our house of worship. We have outdated lighting, sound and other equipment that needs to be replaced.

Q: What will be changing?
A: We will upgrade the lighting system, audio/visual systems, seating, flooring, wall coverings, and some modification to the stage.

Q: How much will the Renovation Cost?
A:
Current estimate is $4 m+.

Q: Who will be doing the work?
A:
Multiple companies were interviewed, but Paragon 360 was selected. Visit PARAGON 360

Q: How long will the renovation take to complete?
A:
The contractor estimates it will take 5-6 months to complete. You should see activity in August, and we hope to be completed in December.

Q: Will we be displaced from the sanctuary during the construction?
A:
There will be some amount of displacement. When we know these details for certain, we will communicate a plan.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, continued

Q: If we are displaced from the sanctuary, will we still meet on Sunday for Worship?
A:
Yes, worship will likely be moved to the Fellowship Hall, or possibly outside on occasion.

Q: How can I give to the renovation?
A:
We ask that you make a commitment and fill out a commitment card, so we know how much is committed. You can give above the tithe: online, by check, cash, or text. Mark your gift to “Renovation.”

Q: Will we need to borrow money?
A:
Yes, church voted by large majority to borrow the necessary funds to complete the renovation.

Q: How will we pay the debt?
A:
The debt payments will be made with your gifts to “Renovation,” this will be outside our operating budget.

Q: How long will it take to pay off the debt?
A:
If our people give sacrificially, we believe we can pay off the debt 5-6 years.

Q: Will other church activities be impacted by the renovation?
A:
It is possible, but we believe most activities taking place outside the sanctuary should have little to no disruption.

Q: Who will be making decisions on the details of the renovation?
A:
Church staff leadership will be making these decisions, while corresponding with the properties and stewardship committees.

Q: What if I disagree with the project or a portion of the project?
A:
We recognize in the life of the church that we will have varying opinions or see things differently, and this is healthy. However, we hope that as a member who “belongs” to EFBC you will support church leadership as they make difficult decisions and lead us to serve the Lord with excellence now and in the future.
