G.R.O.W. Outreach Teams that Win

As we continue to touch Edmond through G.R.O.W. Outreach Teams that Win, there are exciting opportunities for enrollment and training. G.R.O.W. enrollment cards are now available through all adult Connection Groups, from G.R.O.W. team captains, and from Wayne Bristow or Susan Leach in the Evangelism Office. If you have not done so already, make this your week of commitment to G.R.O.W. This means you can be counted on to invest at least 12 Tuesday nights during the next 12 months in visitation, letter writing, making phone calls, doing Spiritual Interest Surveys, or engaging in intercessory prayer (a little more than 17 hours). On Miracle G.R.O.W. Nights (fifth Tuesdays), you will have a “second mile” opportunity to join members of all our teams for special times of outreach.

Tuesday, August 26, the “W” G.R.O.W. team, captained by Joy & Troy Hensarling and Holly Moore, will continue fulfilling the purpose of EFBC, “to love God and others through Jesus Christ.”

Next Training Opportunity

The next training for team members will be on SATURDAY, September 20, 8:00 AM until Noon, with a full brunch at mid-morning for just $4.00 per person. Do not miss this exciting ministry opportunity.

What is G.R.O.W. all About Anyway?

No doubt, you have heard and read a lot about G.R.O.W. Outreach Teams that Win.  Perhaps you are among the many people who are still asking, "What is this all about anyway?"

Simply put, G.R.O.W. is an exciting strategy which offers every member of Edmond's First Baptist Church an avenue for participation in outreach to our community.  The G.R.O.W. acrostic stands for "God Rewards Our Work."  As a member of a G.R.O.W. team this work might mean letter writing, phone calling, intercessory prayer or visitation.  There is a place for everyone to be effective in their comfort zone.  Commitment to a team means that you will participate with your team for twelve nights, a little more than 15 hours of outreach in one year.  The G team meets on the first Tuesday of each month, the R on the second Tuesday, the Day O and O teams on the third Tuesday, and the W team on the fourth Tuesday.  When a month has five Tuesdays, we will call it "Miracle GROW Night" and invite everyone to participate.   Each team meeting lasts 75 minutes (6:30 PM -7:45 PM except for the Day O team which meets from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM).
